The incident took place in January when Norwalk Police opened an investigation into a complaint of larceny committed by Christou Papachristou, age 42, said Norwalk Police Sgt. Joe Dinho.

The buyer, who lives in Florida, reported that he had purchased a piece of equipment from Papachristou, a Norwalk resident, paying over $22,000 for it, but that it never arrived, Dinho said.

After a detailed and lengthy investigation, detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Papachristou, and on Tuesday, April 25, Papachristou turned himself in to Norwalk Police where he was charged with larceny.

Papachristou is being held on a $100,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, May 2.
